In this article, we’d like to introduce several shops which handle Plarail products, prices and selections, and several ways to buy Plarail at outside Japan.

大手家電量販店・おもちゃ屋さん (Leading appliance stores, toy stores)
価格(Price) ★★★☆☆
品揃え(Selection of items) ★★★☆☆
もっともわかりやすい買いかただと思います。ヨドバシカメラ、ビックカメラ、ヤマダ電機などの家電量販店や、トイザらスなどのおもちゃ屋さんで買う方法です。
実物を見ながら買えるのが強みです。品揃えは店によります。
価格は多くの場合、オンラインショップより少し高めな印象です。
最大の難点は、子どもを連れて行くのは…デンジャラス…ということです。
It’s the simplest option to get Plarail. In Japan, Plarail is available at leading appliance stores such as Yodobashi Camera, Bic Camera, and Yamada Denki, or at toy stores such as Toys’R’us.
It’s always good to see the real products when you buy. The selection of items depends on stores.
Usually it’s a little bit pricey compared to online shops.
The biggest drawback of visiting real store is that it’s…so…dangerous to take kids to such an attractive place.

当サイトでまずおすすめしたいのはアマゾンです。
そこそこの品揃えで、ほぼ最安値だと思います。
ただし、安いのはAmazonが販売、発送する商品に限ります。
そうでない商品はだいたい高いので、Amazonで買うことはおすすめしません。
The #1 recommendation is Amazon Japan.
Good selection of items and the greatest value at Amazon.
Note that as for Plarail products, only items “sold and shipped by Amazon.co.jp" are great deal.
If an item is not sold and shipped by Amazon.co.jp, it’s usually expensive and not recommended to get via Amazon.
おすすめ②ヨドバシ・ドット・コム (Yodobashi.com – recommended)
価格(Price) ★★★★☆
品揃え(Selection of items) ★★★★★
ヨドバシは品揃えが安定している印象です。
ポイントが10%つくので、会員登録をお忘れなく。
価格面では、ポイントを考慮してアマゾンよりわずかに高いくらいで、ほかのオンラインショップより安定して安値だと思います。
Yodobashi.com could be the best online shop for large selection of Plarail products (Japanese only, though…).
As they refund 10% of the price by Yodobashi point, make sure you register for free membership.
Regarding pricing, it’s just slightly higher than Amazon Japan, and seems cheaper than other online shops.
その他のオンラインショップ (Other online shops)

品揃え(Selection of items) ★★★☆☆
その他のオンラインショップとしては、タカラトミーモール、トイザらス、ヤマダウェブコム、ビックカメラ.comなどがあります。
しかし、価格や品揃えの面では上記のアマゾンとヨドバシにはかなわないことが多いようです。
欲しい商品がアマゾン、ヨドバシで売り切れの場合は、これらのショップで探してみるとよいでしょう。
Other online shops, there are Takara TOMY Mall (Japanese only), Toys’R’us Japan (Japanese only), Yamada Denki Web.com (Japanese only), BicCamera.com (machine translated English/Chinese available), and more handle Plarail as well.
However, pricing and selection of items don’t seem superior to Amazon or Yodobashi.
If you cannot find what you want at Amazon and Yodobashi, then it’s good to search the item in these online shops.
海外にお住まいの場合 (For residence outside Japan)
現在、プラレールはほぼ日本国内専用の商品とみられ、諸外国では入手困難か、とても高値になっていることが多いようです(そのあたりの歴史については省略します)。
実際、たとえばアメリカのAmazon.comではいくつかプラレールの出品がありますが、品揃えは今ひとつな上、日本での価格の1.5~5倍くらいの値段がついています。
At present, Plarail appears to be sold for Japanese domestic only. In other countries, it seems difficult to get or pretty expensive (we will omit the historical story).
In fact, at Amazon.com (U.S.) there are only several Plarail products available and 1.5 ~ 5 times as expensive as those in Japan.
したがって、海外にお住まいでまとまった量のプラレールを入手したい場合は、日本のオンラインショップで購入し、海外発送するのがいいのではないかと思います。
Therefore, for those who live outside Japan, if you want to get certain amount of Plarail products, probably you should get them at Japanese online shop and arrange for international shipping.
方法① アマゾンジャパン (Option 1: Amazon Japan)
おそらく、いちばん簡単なのは日本のアマゾンで購入し、アマゾンから海外発送してもらう方法です。

Probably the easiest way is to get at and ship by Amazon.co.jp (Japan).

言語の変更方法は次のとおりです。
地域を選択するとその地域のアマゾンサイトに移動してしまうので、地域は日本になっていることを確認してください。

Make sure the region is Japan so that you can shop at Amazon.co.jp – you’ll be transferred to the Amazon website of the region you select.
方法② ビックカメラ (Option 2: BicCamera)
ビックカメラでは、アジア、オーストラリア、アメリカなど120以上の国と地域を対象に発送を行なっているようです。
BicCamera supports international shippings to more than 120 countries and regions.
方法③ ヨドバシカメラ (Option 3: Yodobashi.com)
ヨドバシ・ドット・コムのサイトでは言語の変更はできないようですが、こちらに英語のページがあり、メールにて海外発送のサポートを受け付けているようです。
Although Yodobashi online shop doesn’t support other language than Japanese, there is an English webpage and they seem to accommodate international shippings by email.
当記事の掲載時点では、アメリカ本土の48州のみが配送対象で、順次拡大予定とのことです。
As of the date this article being made, Yodobashi is supporting international shippings to the 48 contiguous states of the U.S. mainland only, and they plan to expand the region in the future.
方法④ 海外転送サービスを利用 (Option 4: International shipping service)
転送コムなどの海外発送サービスを利用すれば、どのオンラインショップでも使えます。
You can get Plarail at any Japanese online shops and use an international shipping service, such as Tenso.com.
