コンテナの選びかた (Container for Plarail)
プラレールをしまう箱。どんなものを選ぶのがよいかがわかる。

プラレールが増えてくると、収納の悩みが出てきます。
はじめのうちはセット品が入っていた箱にしまっていたけれど、追加のレールが入らなかったり、箱がボロボロになってきたり。家にあるおもちゃ箱に入れると、長いレールが飛び出してしまったり。
As you get more Plarails, you will have a trouble with storage.
You might be putting Plarails away in the original packing cardboard box, but it’ll be too small to put additional parts in, or the box will be worn. Also might be using an existing toy box which cannot fully contain long rails.

もう少し詳しく見てみましょう。

プラレールのパーツでいちばん長いのはおそらく「ニュー坂レール」で、全長540mmです。
これが入るよう、内側の幅は550mm以上あるものがよいでしょう。
また、内側は凸凹があったり穴が空いているとレールや情景の先っぽが引っかかって取り出しづらくなったり、折れてしまったりするので、なめらかなものが望ましいです。
欲を言えば、キャスターやコロが付いていると子どもが引きずらずに転がせます。
We assume that the longest part of Plarail is slope rail. It’s 540 mm (21.3″) long.
Therefore, the inner width of the container should be 550 mm (22″) or more.
The inner surface should be smooth, no openings so that rails and scenery parts won’t get caught in the container. It helps to prevent parts from breaking.
If such a product is available, a container with wheels would be desired for kids to carry it around.
